Kimberly's Obituary:

Kimberly Marie Hamilton was born on August 14, 1987, in Fresno, CA. She was a junior at Clovis East
High School with high hopes and big ambitions for the future. Kimberly's goal once she graduated
high school was to continue her education and become a teacher. An avid hockey fan, Kimberly would
have never missed a Fresno Falcon's game unless she absolutely could not help it. Kimberly supported
the Falcon's in anyway she could, including covering her bedroom walls with the pictures of the team
players and newspaper articles. Kimberly was also a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings, and would
have wanted "Cujo" to know that last goal was not his fault. Kimberly talked non-stop about moving
to Canada in order to be closer to the sport and players she loved so much. Kimberly was also a huge
fan of the Grizzlies, and was so excited that the season had just begun. As with everything else she
loved so much, she put her heart into being at the games every chance she got. Kimberly loved
playing golf and was a member of the Clovis East Golf Team. She received her first set of golf clubs
from her Grandpa Pack for her 15th birthday, practiced hard, and lettered in the sport the very
first year of playing. She would have continued playing for the team in her senior year. She took
pride in the game, her coach, teammates, and school. Kimberly was an angel. She had a love of life
and those in it. Although taken from this world at such a young age, she was able to make a
permanent, loving impression on the lives of those people who had the opportunity to know her. She
had a remarkable sense of humor, and her smile and laughter could brighten up the darkest of times.
Kimberly's family and friends were her priorities, and she has no doubt found a special place in
heaven where she can continue to be their angel and watch over them. Kimberly is survived by her
loving parents, Mary and Richard Sappington; her sister, Desiree Smithson; and two brothers, Ryan
Border and Nathaniel Bennett. Kimberly also leaves behind her great-grandmother, Alma Westlund;
grandparents, Noralee and David Pack, and Deborah and Greg Sappington; aunt and uncle, Lena and
Shawn Sappington; niece and nephew, Kylee and Cody Sappington; and great-grandfather, Delbert Pack.
Kimberly also leaves behind countless other family members and friends, whose names, although not
listed here, are not forgotten. A Graveside Service will be held at Clovis District Cemetery on
Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Clovis East Golf Team, 4353

Kimberly's Find-a-Grave verbage:

Kimberly Marie Hamilton was taken from this world on May 7, 2004, at the age of 16 by an earthmover.
The vehicle she was riding in was being driven by her best friend, Becca. They were stopped at a
construction zone and flagged through by a flagger who was not paying attention to her job. The
earthmover ran over the vehicle, killing Kimberly. By a pure miracle, Becca survived. The girls were
en route to purchase Mother's Day presents.

Kimberly is best known for her kindness, sense of humor, genuine heart, and loving nature. She would
try and help any one she came in contact with, including purchasing hamburgers for the homeless and
making sure the new kids at school were welcomed. Her family and friends were her priorities and she
made each and everyone of them feel special. Kimberly has no doubt found a special place in heaven
where she can watch out over each and every one.

Not a day will go by without Kimberly in my heart and thoughts. Until we meet again my sweet
daughter.

Assemblyman Villines introduced a Bill into legislation here in California which has been signed and
is now a Law! The interchange where Kimberly was killed will now be named after her!
